Operating Requirements

Operation of the HGS® requires the addition of 2 litres of distilled water for every 60 hours

Hydrogen gas has a greater flame speed than that of diesel fuel and improves flame propagation inside the cylinder. With hydrogen enhancement, engines run cooler, cleaner, and extract more useful energy.

In an underground mine setting, the HGS® has been shown to reduce toxic emissions thereby improving underground air quality.

Mining Technologies International Inc. operates four manufacturing facilities producing a wide range of advanced mining equipment for markets in Canada, the U.S., Europe and Australia. MTI has partnered with Hy-Drive to develop a mining version of the HGS® for underground and above ground mining equipment. The focus in underground operations is on diesel emissions and their effect on air quality for miners.
